Why People Migrate to Another Country?
Many people choose to live in a foreign country, which has aroused great concern. Nowadays, more and more people, especially plenty of intellectuals, migrate to some developed countries, such as America, England and Canada. In addition, there are still many people studying and working in foreign countries struggling for “green cards”. There are many reasons accounting for this phenomenon.
Among all these factors, pursuing high-quality life plays a critical role. Moreover, most of them migrate to some foreign countries with a view to making their children receive good education there. Besides, some people just want to experience a different culture they like. All these above factors contribute to their choice to migrate to another country.
As far as I am concerned, though I enjoy various cultures all over the world, I won’t migrate to another country. For one thing, I don’t like to live far from my friends and relatives. For another, I can’t bear to speak and listen to a foreign language from day to night. In a word, everyone has his right to decide where to live, and everyone’s choice should be respected.
Since we opened our door outside, there are more and more people going to immigrate overseas recently. They would like to experience the another lifestyle by either working or communication.
There are some reasons for immigration. Firstly, some young people would love to study abroad and then find their speciality jobs there. Secondly some skilled people move to overseas for good life.At last people invest their money in overseas for business opportunity.
Generally speaking, people move out with their dream and hope to make their dream come true.
Some people feel isolated due to communication. some people don't feel happy due to different culture. Some people feel hard to build up family due to different religions. Actually not all people settle down very well, they can not find their own ways. Sum up these reasons, they can not get used to working and life enviroment instantly.
Eventually people prefer to work and live by their favourite methods, and then they will settle down.
Immigration is what has made America what it is today. In fact, there would be no America if not for immigration because everyone in the country is an immigrant or is directly descended from one. Even the oldest inhabitants, the Native Americans, emigrated from Asia. The rest of us come from all different places in the world. Countries such as England, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, China, Germany, and many others have all contributed to populate the United States. Immigration started with our nation’s beginning and it hasn’t seen and had continued for every year since. Each wave of immigrant brings new ideas and cultures as the people integrate with other Americans. Immigration is definitely a necessity, however if uncontrolled, it can also have devastating effects on the country’s economy and population. Therefore, immigration is only good, if it is limited immigration. I believe the policy on immigration the country currently holds is controlled and a good policy.

Immigration in its controlled state can have positive affects on the economy. They pay taxes and start businesses that boost the GNP. The starter of Hotmail was an immigrant from India with only $200. His company has certainly had a positive affect on the US economy. The most comprehensive immigration study, completed by the National Research Council, found that immigration provides an overall modest net gain for the United States. Roughly $7 billion to $10 billion a year are gained in an $8 trillion economy from immigration. Some local governments feel a financial strain in states with a large number of immigrants, notably California, the report said, because those households are more likely to have school-age children, depend on social services and pay lower taxes than native residents. But overall, the results are positive.
Immigration when not controlled will slaughter the country’s economy. Because many of the immigrants that come into the country come with nothing but the clothes on their backs, billions of dollars would have to be spent on just keeping the immigrant alive. Unchecked immigration would be the end to the average middle class family of today. Working for next to nothing, immigrants would flood the work force, forcing the middle class workers out of work and into poverty. We would see our wonderful nation slip into the realm of the third world country.

Immigration should not be stopped completely. We have many things to thank immigrant for. Immigrants from China built the Transcontinental Railroad, which brought our country together by connecting the East and West. Many have become scientist or engineers and have created numerous ideas and inventions to make our lives better. Allowing some immigration into our country is morally right. Many people flock to America’s shore escaping harsh oppression or persecution from cruel dictators and governments. America has become a safe haven for many of these people who are not given a chance to live in their home countries. For example, the many Vietnamese came that came America in the 1970s were escaping the deadly grasp of the their communist government. Many people also have come or tried to come from Cuba. There, the communist government, led by Fidel Castro, allows no freedom and kills anyone who argues with his policy. We are certainly doing a good thing by opening our borders to desperate foreigners seeking basic human rights.

Immigration is truly a helpful policy to our country. Without it, we would not be the America we are today. But like many other good things, too much is not good. If unchecked, immigration could become a heavy burden on our economy. However, a certain amount of immigrant has been shown to positively effect our country’s economy. Controlled immigration is with out a doubt the way to go.

You are going to looking for a job in a company.rn2. Tell what company you’d like to work for.rn3. Explain why you want to work for this particular company. rn我來回答
"I've sent my résumé to over 150 companies but I'm not getting any bites," complaineda job hunter. "How many more jobs should I apply to in order to generate some interest?"

Some people treat job hunting as a numbers game. They hope that by applying to enough companies, sooner or later they will find success. While there is no one magic number of how many places a jobsearcher need apply, you shouldn't for a moment believe that applying to everything in sight is a winning strategy for career progression. Moreover, being unprepared for success might also be risky.

Imagine getting this call: "Hi Joe.This is Jane from ABC Corp. I'm responding to the résumé you submitted to us.Thanks so much for your interest. Can you tell me why this job appeals to you?"

Gulp. Joe's chances could be doomed from the get-go if he can't quickly summon to mind a better answer than: "Well… I applied to lots of jobs. Remind me which company you're calling from, and tell me about the job. Then I'll be able to explain it to you."

Already, Joe has blown his chance to show that he actually cares about this particular opportunity. Worse, he cemented in the mind of the interviewer that he is submittingfrivolous applications out of desperation and likely isn't a serious candidate.

To be fair, you can't be expected to put in hours researching the details of every company before submitting an application. Nonetheless, it is important to have a clear sense of why you're interested in every company to which you apply, and what in your background should make that particular company interested in you.

If you want to make a hit, then take the time to understand the basics of your target companies' employment brand. Be prepared to tap into their carefully crafted reputation from your first conversation and all the way through the hiring process.

Here are five possible answers to the"why work here" question. Pick and choose from them, and expand with the facts of your particular situation. Thereby, you candemonstrate that you've done your research, your interest is real and your candidacy makes sense:

1. "I've known several colleagues over the years that have worked at your company, and they have all said great things."

2. "I was excited to see on your website that you feature employees talking about how great it is to work for your company. These days so many people seem to hate where they work for one reason or another. It's wonderful to see that your employees are proud to talk about how much they love their jobs."

3. "Your company's Facebook page is really engaging. I love how you [fill in the blank]."
我喜歡你們的_______."

4. "I'm connected on LinkedIn to many people who work at your company. When I reviewed their profiles, I saw that we all shared some things in common. [You might reference similar accomplishments, prior employers, colleges, etc.] It struck me that this is the kind of place where I can fit in and excel, so I was thrilled to see you have this opening."

5. "Your company is known for making great products that help people do X. But on top of that, I know of your company's leadership role in our community through your support of X, Y and Z events or causes. Your products and philanthropy show you to be a company that cares about both the bottom line and giving back to society."

Of course, to be in a position to make any of these kinds of statements you need to do a bit of work. Check out the company's own website and Facebook page to see what it does in the community. Follow it on LinkedIn, and do a search for people in your network who have experience working there. Then, look at several of their individual profiles to determine what you have in common with them. Search for the company in the news to see if it is mentioned for something with which you can identify.

You don't need to know every detail at the very beginning of the search, but you should know enough to justify a genuine belief in your own mind that there is a basis for you considering this company, and for that company to consider you.

When you go about things this way, you won't be able to apply to anything close to 150 jobs simultaneously. But the quality of your thoughtful and purposeful applications will produce a more focused target group of opportunities that can move your search forward. When you present a compelling answer to the "why are you interested in our company" question, you will be well on your way to establishing the basis for being seriously considered for a job that will advance your career at a company you respect and admire.

Why do More and More People Enjoy Traveling? It's reported that during golden weeks, such as National Day,New Year's Day and May Day,almost all the high roads are filled with private cars, going to travel -destination places and all the hotels and restaurants are full of tourists. What's more,in some countries with beautiful scenic spots, more than one-third of the visitors are Chinese. All of these suggests one thing that more and more Chinese people are enjoying traveling. But why?In my opinion, here are the reasons.First of all,as a matter of fact, with the progress of the society and development of the economy,a large quantity of people are getting richer and richer, they would like to go to a new place to expand their visions,to know more about the outside world.Second, with the increasing of the living standard, the present way of life can't meet their needs anymore, they long eagerly for a new lifestyle, like traveling, going climbing and so on.

追加追加~~rn題目是“is china faced with a culture war?why or why not?(針對媒體該不該被監督討論一下)”

Tablefortwo?”

I and Olympic Games
Olympic Games is window, I keep watch. This is a maximum window, had been rubbed bright. Through it, those that see are worlds. Here, it is changing every day, here burgeoning thing is being replaced. Have only me, this loyalty keep watch, it is paying attention to it every day, hopes to know it more. Olympic Games is crossing, I am pedestrian. There are many persons who pass here every day, there is Asian, have European, there is old person, have child. Here is traffic fort, joins the friend of all corners of the country. I pass the one of persons of hundreds of millions of here merely, cross it, go to another world. Olympic Games is Holy Land, I am volunteer. This is the land with pure flat, has holy fire from start to finish to accompany in side. Just because it is so, I pay out voluntarily for it, I will let my strength, let this slice of land more clean, let more ones know it, is also willing to devote oneself to it as me. I still help to the person who comes to here, let them enjoy the happiness of this slice of Holy Land. Olympic Games is platform, I am host. It has put up platform for us , lets world know us; It has built bridge for us , lets us and world link up better. This platform may let us display self wantonly. I am the host of here, I am proud to be the host of here. I will let the friendship of landlord, let guest experience enthusiasm and happiness.

China's Culture Wars (Continued)

The other day, in a post entitled, "To Succeed in China Know the Now," I blogged on the relative importance of knowing Chinese culture for doing business in China. My views on this are summarized here:

Knowledge of Chinese history and culture is an asset for doing business in China. However, because circumstances in China change so quickly, staying abreast of China's current situation is far more important than knowing its past. The most successful businesses in China usually emphasize knowing their own businesses inside and out first, understanding China today second, and China's history and culture third.
Asia Business Law Blog just did an excellent job probing the need for cultural knowledge in a two part series, entitled, "Do The Top Ten Cultural Tips For Doing Business In China Really Help?" Their first post quotes from Doug Berman, a second year law student at Indiana University School of Law (who I actually had the pleasure of meeting when I was there lecturing on International Law a year and a half ago) who also questions the value of the books that purport to teach a nation's culture in a few hundred pages:

How many more books do we need by the new China hand on the block explaining to the wide-eyed corporate executives the top ten tricks to put in one's knapsack?

While I am hardly an insider, over the years I have seen (and you probably have as well) how people of similar extraction in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China may behave quite differently in certain respects. Even in China, such "fixed" cultural attributes find variation among young/old, educated/uneducated. It is odd that such books often tout the tremendous changes in China and then fall back on cultural essentialisms...

Moreover, and more fundamentally, knowing that "guanxi" is important only takes one so far. In many ways, learning Chinese culture (or any culture for that matter) is a lot like learning chess. The basic rules are easily memorized; responding to every situation that can arise is very, very difficult. No wonder we often fall back on our acquired understanding and background when the going gets rough. I think the problem is that very few foreigners, especially businesspeople, are willing to put in the many years to learn the language, get that Ph.D. in anthropology or East Asian studies, and, more importantly, immerse themselves in the culture.
I like Asia Business Law Blog's reply to Doug because though it recognizes the inherent value in learning another's language and culture, it also makes clear it is quite acceptable for that not to be the businessperson's primary goal:

I love your well-founded skepticism about providing businesspeople with drive-thru lessons about China. I was reading about the philosopher Zhuangzi yesterday and he said something to the effect that our lives are limited and what there is to learn is unlimited. Taking the finite to learn about the infinite is an inspiring conundrum, but I think it highlights nicely the fact that people make choices about what they want to achieve in life, and the businessperson wants to increase their profit margin. Others, perhaps not unlike yourself, want to truly learn and understand the culture, which requires learning the language and actually being in the culture.
Doug then replies, in part two of the series, by conceding that knowing about culture is not always a prerequisite to commercial success in China:

Putting aside my obvious passion for China and a bias against people who represent the MNC [multinational corporation] view (which, unfortunately, I made all too obvious in my earlier post to you), I do think there is an argument to make that knowing about culture may not always be a prerequisite to commercial success in China. For many reasons, I would like not to believe that, given that it downgrades my own stock. On the other hand, the post Dan cites does not say this, merely that MNCs understand how to make money and do localize to the extent they need to do so.
Doug goes on to say that he still considers knowing the language and culture as very useful:

My tentative answer is still that knowing the language and culture is very useful, at least on an individual level, at the very least because it is important to the Chinese themselves and gives respect. No other country have I been to where speaking the mother tongue takes you so far.
I agree with all of this. The Chinese (like every other culture of which I am familiar, with the exception of the French) greatly appreciate foreigners who have an interest in Chinese culture and language. No country appreciates the stereotypical "ugly American" and I always strongly advise anyone doing business in China to learn the basics of Chinese culture, etiquette and language before going there for even the first time. Something as simple as just knowing how to say "I am pleased to meet you" in Chinese goes an incredibly long way towards showing your Chinese hosts that you care about their country and about them.

Ever since I read an article in the most recent Fast Company Magazine issue, entitled, "The Mintz Dynasty," I have been waiting for an opportunity to use a great question posed in it. The article itself is on the huge successes achieved by the Dynamic Marketing Group, an advertising and communications agency formed by Dan Mintz in Beijing eleven years ago. The question, from Dan Mintz, in many ways sums up the whole issue on culture. Mintz complains about Westerners coming to China and then he asks this question and gives his own answer:

Why would you think people in government here all think the same when there's nowhere else in the world where that's the case?" Mintz asks. "It's like thinking every Chinese guy knows kung fu.
Anyone who thinks they know China and its .3 billion plus inhabitants from reading a few books is as misguided as those who think every Chinese guy knows kung fu. Anyone who thinks reading a few books on Chinese culture gives them the measure of the individual Chinese person with whom they are dealing is mistaken.
